James A. Essex
James A. Essex, 49, of Terre Haute, died Tuesday April 29, 2008 at 3:02 p.m. in Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
He worked for years in the Cable TV industry and was recently in the trucking industry.
He was born Nov. 6, 1958 in Wichita, Kan., to Charles Essex and Rosalie (Stewart) Essex.
He is survived by his wife: Carol Essex; three sons: Chris Essex and his friend Ami Chambers of Terre Haute, Brent Essex of Jasonville and David Essex of Terre Haute; his mother Patricia Essex; two brothers: Bill Essex of Terre Haute and Rick Essex of Texas; a sister: Melody Burns of Indianapolis; a step-brother: Steve Kuykendall; an uncle: Jim Essex of Colorado; the mother of Brent and Chris: Sherri Sapp of Jasonville, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He enjoyed boating, fishing, camping and lighting fires in his fireplace. He was a veteran of the US Army.
Service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with the Rev. Mark Messmer officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park with military graveside service by Lawton-Byrum Post 972 VFW.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that for those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to a trust fund set up for his son David Essex c/o First Financial Bank.
