Police searching for stop-sign vandals

Wednesday, April 30, 2008

(By Timberly Ferree)

Several of Linton's stop signs were recently vandalized. Most of the signs have sayings such as "Don't (Stop) Believing" painted on them. The signs -- which were stenciled with white paint -- have already been replaced. If you have any information on the recent vandalism contact the Linton Police Department at 847-4411.

  • They should auction them and use the money towards a new art center for the town :)

  • In light of all the joking comments. This a serious and costly issue for the city and tax payers. I agree with you "youjackace" they will get caught and the sooner the better.

  • Since it's costing the city so much, auction the signs off to replenish the funds! Obviously there is interest in purchasing them...

  • Oooh, my blog, The Smiling Infidel, was linked in the opening comment. I live in Houston, now, but I'm a native Hoosier..... born and raised in Elkhart. My great-uncle, Richard Moore is currently Elkhart's mayor and according to the city website, they're dealing with rampant vandalism, too.

It's nice to have such a unifying factor tying my old home town to my new home town.

  • First of all, Journey sucks. Secondly, I'm sure that there are more important issues we could be concerned about. Perhaps meth labs and pedafiles? *yawns*

    This is boring me.

  • blackbrrd,

What is a "pedafile"? Is that something I can get at Silky Nails?

  • Hooked on phonics worked for me. I'm not gonna lose any sleep over a typo. I didn't realize that the crowd was so ANAL. Pretty sure that if you sound it out, you get the jist of it. A lil' concerned for those individuals that know how to spell the term anyway. Been doing much research? I need not therefore I am not. I keep myself updated with YOUR local sex offenders. I can see why you would be familiar with the term and it's correct spelling considering that there are so many offenders "down thar in those parts." Safety first, correct spelling later. Why is it that these blog sites deviate from the actual point of interest? Why is it that people abuse these comment sites in order to attack others to boost one's own self esteem? Supacalafragilisticexpealidocious to you.

  • This is sheer entertainment. So sad that you presume to be so touchy, sensitive, and quick to defend your "intelligence". My entire family lives in greene county and I spent a majority of my life living in that magnetic tar pit trap. Everyone is so comfortable with pointing fingers, making accusations and just being rude and rutheless. I see that the apple doesn't fall far from your tree. I need not act on your suggestion to "look that one up". You can thank the television for that word I'm sure. I'm quite confident that the thriving job market attracted your being to where you reside, similar to how flies are attracted to carcus. How compelling. When one blogs, they are typing their comments. It's one in the same bumble foot. If you don't know what that is, perhaps you should "look that one up". Just kick off your flip flops, crack open your old milwaukee, lean back in your broke down lazy boy, and tune into your Jeff Foxworthy DVDs. Much love, hugs, and kisses.

  • You know blackbrrd isnt right in the head when he said "journey sucks"! Just because they are not the backstreet boys or vanilla ice doesnt mean they "suck".

I am sure there are more important, illegal stuff they can take care of, but it is there job! Doesnt matter how important it is still illegal and needs to be taken care of no matter how minor it is.

So in the words of Blackbrrds favorite pop artists "Bye, Bye Bye"

  • Pigface, Portishead, NIN, Nirvana, Blind Melon, Ladytron. No boy bands, sorry. And also, I am a female, PLUS I am a product of the 70's and the film Monster ruined Journey for me. Just to clarify. Can't wait for the next topic that get's our undies in a bunch. Perhaps we should all congregate and discuss these matters over a few cocktails? I'm sure that we'd all end up BFFs.

  • Minus the apostrophe in the word gets. Don't verbally murder me over the typo.

  • I got to see them in march at the Music Mill in Indy. Hard to say how they will fair considering that their lyrical genius has passed. (Rest in peace Shannon). The band members played just as consistent as they did before, the lead singer however, was great at simulating Shannon's style but not a heavy weight in the lyrics department. Nico Blue sang "Change" and "No Rain" which was definately worth wading through the drunk fratties and sorostitutes. Tix were only 15$ a piece. Good times.
