Cardinals lose 13th game

Wednesday, April 30, 2008

Seven errors were too many for the Bloomfield baseball team to overcome as the Cardinals dropped a 4-1 decision at Loogootee Wednesday.

"That was the ball game," said Bloomfield coach Jason Pegg. "They had just one earned run as a result of our mistakes."

Travis Bowlen was the starting and losing pitcher.

"Travis pitched a good game and deserved a better fate," said Pegg, whose Cardinals dropped to 3-13.

Cody Pearson had two hits for Bloomfield while Bowlen and Cody Barlow each went 1-for-3. Bryce Helms had a pinch hit in the top of the seventh. Mark Clapp scored the lone Cardinal run as a pinch runner in the seventh.

Bloomfield will be off until Tuesday when they play at Washington.
