Coffeemates make a list of things to do

To the Editor:

The discussions in recent weeks, by the coffeemates at McDonalds, these topics were discussed.

With the rise of gasoline prices, we can expect more ATVs and golf carts on the streets. This can cause a problem. Drivers of these vehicles and drivers of other motor vehicles need to exercise care and give each other a break.

There are some complaints about storm drains and sewers being clogged, especially on the northwest side along H, I, and J streets. With these spring rains, this could be a problem.

Someone mentioned potholes, which can be found all over town. These are found all over town. These are hard on car suspensions and muffler systems. If the city is short on personnel to do these chores, maybe we can find some volunteers that can do some of these chores.

We are in the midst of city clean-up. If we all cooperate, we can have a city we can be proud of. "We like Linton!" Let's show it. Let's make it a neat city.

The month of May brings to mind, Memorial Day. Traditionally, folks tidied up the cemetery and decorated the graves, to make them look nice and pleasant. Maybe, we can do it again this year.

We wonder if all the political signs will disappear quickly or will they be with us for the Fourth of July?

Again, we'd like to thank the Barnes for cleaning up the downtown Marathon Station lot. They endured a lot of grief while IDEM dragged their feet.

We can be successful in making Linton a "garden city" if we all do our part. Let's put some feeling into it, when we say "I Like Linton."

Thanks for listening.
