Harold R. Wehmeier, 78, of La Porte, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2008 at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte.
Born May 11, 1930 in Westphalia, he was the son of William Wehmeier and Lydia (Held) Wehmeier. He has lived in the LaPorte area since 1947 coming from Westphalia.
Wehmeier was employed by Teledyne Casting Service as a molder and retired in 1992 after 41 years of service
On October 3, 1947 he married Lois Swaby in Henderson, Kentucky.
He is also survived by his daughter,Sherry (Michael) Juarez of Las Vegas, Nev.; a son, Ron (Marcia) Wehmeier of Branson West, Mo.; three granddaughters, Katherine, Sunni, Christine; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Campbell of Carlisle; and two brothers, Mr. Roy Merlin Wehmeier of Muncie and Ives Wehmeier of Sandborn.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and three sisters.
Local arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, where the family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m EDT Wednesday, at the Newkirk Funeral Home, Dugger.
Services will be at Newkirk Funeral Home in Dugger at 2 p.m. EDT Thursday, May 15, 2008 with Rev. Jerry Carmichael officiating.
Interment will be at Dugger Cemetery in Dugger.
