Lewis J. Reed, 75, of Coal City passed away at 7:10 p.m. Saturday at his residence.
Born Sept. 18, 1932 in Osward, Ind., he was the son of Lowell and Harriett (Gilliand) Reed.
He was the former owner of Reed Ford Sales in Clay City for eight years and then serves as sale manager for Clay City Ford until his retirement. He was a member of the Antioch Christian Church, Clay City F & M Masonic Lodge No. 562, Scottish Rite and Zorah Shrine in Terre Haute and Elk's Lodge in Brazil.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Cozean (Sears) Reed of Clay City; two children, Lewis (Veronica) Reed, Jr. of Newburgh and Deborah (Marvin) Willen, of Coal City; five grandchilren, Charles "Chuck" Willen, Carlos Reed, Rebekah Reed, Jessica Hux and Hannah Reed;2 great grandchildren, Mariah Hux & Christian Willen; 2 brothers, Don & Ernest Reed and one sister, Ruth Brossman.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home, Worthington Chapel with Bret Eaton officiating.
Burial will be in Cambersville Cemetery at Ellettsville.
Visitation will be conducted after 11 a.m. Wednesdy at the funeral home when a Masonic Lodge service will also be held.
