Carl E. 'Gene' Weaver, 88, of Sullivan, passed away Monday, May 19, 2008 at the Sullivan County Community Hospital in Sullivan.
He was born in Linton on Nov. 7, 1919, to Earl Ervin and Mary Alice (Miller) Weaver. Carl married Thelma R. Fordyce on December 26, 1939.
He had been a maintenance supervisor at the Breed Power Plant and retired in 1981. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend, IN, (Life Member) and the Sullivan Masonic Lodge F & AM (50 Year Member).
Survivors include: two daughters, Ruth Jean Bedwell of Speedway and Marsha Jo Boles of Sullivan; four sisters: Barbara Harris of South Bend, Violet Roberts, Betty Hale, and Irene Stephens, all of Linton; two grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; four brothers, Ervin, Irwin, Robert, and Ronnie; and four sisters, Dorothy, Caroline, Annie Louise, and Leota.
Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Dugger Chapel from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday with a Masonic Memorial Service taking place at 7 p.m. Calling hours will resume after 10 a.m. Thursday.
Services will be conducted at 1p.m. Thursday with Rev. Paul Myers officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
