GREENE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

* May 25 -- No injuries were reported after a turkey flew into the path of a vehicle and struck the driver's side front. Natasha Allen, 18, Switz City, was eastbound at 11:43 a.m. in a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am on State Road 54 west of County Road 475 W. near Switz City in Fairplay Township when the incident occurred. GCSD Deputy Terry L. Wade was the investigating officer.

JAIL LOG

* May 23 -- Ryan E. McFarland, 21, Williams, was arrested on a preliminary charge of attempted theft, released on $4,000 bond on May 26 and scheduled to appear in court on June 2. Greene County Sheriff's Deputy Terry Wade was the arresting officer.

* May 23 -- Chad J. Rollins, 27, Bloomfield, was arrested on preliminary charges of theft and conspiracy to commit burglary and was being held on $14,000 bond. Greene County Sheriff's Deputy Chris McDonald was the arresting officer.

* May 23 -- Christopher L. Clouse, 26, Hymera, was arrested on a warrant and was being held on $1,000 bond. Greene County Sheriff's Deputy John Fowler was the arresting officer.

* May 23 -- Travis E. Cain, 19, Williams, was arrested on a preliminary charge of attempted theft, released on $4,000 bond on May 25 and scheduled to appear in court on May 30. Greene County Sheriff's Deputy Terry Wade was the arresting officer.

* May 23 -- Ricky L. Cain, 28, Solsberry, was arrested on a preliminary charge of attempted theft and was being held on $4,000 bond. Greene County Sheriff's Deputy Terry Wade was the arresting officer.

* May 24 -- Shane A. Stevens, 37, Jasonville, was arrested on preliminary charges of three counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, released on $4,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court on May 30. Jasonville Police Officer Danny Keller was the arresting officer.

* May 24 -- Jeremy B. Swango, 33, Bloomfield, was arrested on a warrant and was being held without bond. Bloomfield Deputy Marshal Eric Shane Smith was the arresting officer.

* May 26 -- Benny R. Bowlen, 48, Bloomington, was arrested on preliminary charges of two counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and criminal recklessness, released on $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court on June 2. Greene County Sheriff's Deputy Chris McDonald was the arresting officer.

The Linton Police Department's activity log for Friday through Monday included one incident of trespassing, one breaking and entering, one child restraint complaint, seven follow-up investigations, seven requests for information only, one fight, one assist to the utility department after hours, one vandalism, one custody dispute/exchange, one shots fired, one death investigation, one utility repair, two structure fires, three brush fires, four reckless driving complaints, one accident with personal injury, four accidents with property damage, one off-road vehicle complaint, seven medical/illness, three alarms, three animal complaints, five suspicious vehicles/persons, three assists to other agencies, two burglaries, seven harassment complaints, two reckless drivers, one extra patrol, eight thefts-other, one lost/stolen license plate, three 911 prank/false calls, one assist to the utility department, one abandoned vehicle, two community relations details, one fingerprint for a gun permit, two ordinance violations, one battery and 56 traffic stops.

* May 23 -- A resident reported a lost trailer plate. LPD Patrolman Debbie McDonald was the investigating officer.

* May 24 -- A resident reported five checks were missing from their checkbook and advised police that they thought an "ex" possibly took the checks. The check numbers are 564-569. The bank advised that two of the checks had been written to a business but the account was no longer active. LPD Patrolman Karl Jacobshagen is the investigating officer.

* May 24 -- Police are investigating an incident involving someone who left the scene of an accident. Around 9:30 p.m. a resident was in the turning lane to turn west onto 5th St. N.W. from State Road 54 when another vehicle was traveling south on 5th St. toward Vincennes St. The approaching vehicle sideswiped the resident's 1999 green Pontiac Grand Am causing damage to the driver's side mirror. The suspect's vehicle was reported to be a dirty, older passenger car, possibly a maroon Plymouth. LPD Cpl. Chad Crynes is the investigating officer.
