Former Dugger woman appreciates support

Friday, June 6, 2008

To the Editor:

I moved away from Dugger after my graduation from Union High School in 1962. I now reside in Brownsburg, Indiana but I have always considered Dugger my home. I enjoy spending time there whenever possible and seeing familiar faces.

Since my diagnosis of breast cancer in October 2007, I have not been able to go home. I have had hip surgery, radiation and chemo therapy. Recently I had surgery for a mastectomy and will undergo additional radiation and oral medication. I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to all my friends and family for their cards, letters and phone calls during the past six months of treatment.

Thanks to everyone for putting me on your prayer lists at church and caring enough to ask about me, even though we may never have met. Because of the tremendous outpouring of love and support from all of you, I am doing well and look forward to the future.
