Violet Mae (Hill) McFarland, 95, of Lyons, passed away at 8:12 p.m. on Sunday June 8, 2008 at Lyons Health & Living Center in Lyons.
Born February 10, 1913 in Spencer she was the daughter of Winfield and Dollie Ann (Maners) Hill.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Newberry Nazarene Church where she taught Sunday School. She was a member of the Red Hat Club and was a cancer survivor.
Surviving relatives include: two daughters Blanch Martin of Yuma, Ariz., and Betty G. DeMoss of Newberry; one sister, Mary Ann White and husband Warren of Gary; grandchildren Larry and John Dresden, both of Arizona, Judy Throne and husband, James of Oregon, Annette Pondo and husband, Tim, of Valparaiso, Martha White of Gary; Robert DeMoss and wife Beth of Indianapolis; Jack and James DeMoss, both of Newberry; Teresa Jackson and husband Virgil of Newberry, Fairy Mandenhall and husband Dave of Martinsville, Illinois;18 great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and seven great-great-great grandchildren; several step-children, step-grandchildren; step-sreat grandchildren; three nieces, Shirley Cox of Bloomfield, Priscilla Kaiser, and Joyce Johnson of Elnora; and a nephew, Eugene Roach of Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Edward McFarland, second husband Harlod Conner and third husband Edward McFarland; three sisters Goldie Roach, Ana Moyes, & Mary Hatfield; five grandchildren great grandchildren, and her parents
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday 1 P.M. till the hour at Jenkins Funeral Home in Lyons.
Funeral Servce will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Lyons with Rev. Bill Purcell and Rev. Mike Ladson officiating.
Burial will follow at Worthington Cemetery.
