Jimmy L. Shepler, 74, of Sullivan, passed away at 6 a.m. Tuesday June 17, 2008 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born in Sullivan on Dec. 22, 1933 to Fred Shepler, and Anna Ridge Shepler.
He was a U.S. Army veteran in the Korean War, a member of the American Legion Post No.139 in Sullivan.
Survivors include: his wife, Waneta Joann Craver Shepler; two sons, Fredrick D. Shepler of Clay City, Bruce A. Shepler of Paxton; one daughter, Cynthia McCoy Shepler of Linton; two sisters, Mildred Ann Cox and husband Bill of Graysville, IL. and Dorothy H. "Duck" Sparks and husband Jerry of Merom; 12 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son Kent Shepler; four brothers, Fred Jr., Lester, John and Paul Shepler; two sisters, Freda Hayhurst and Kathryn Grace Shepler.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Banks and Brust Funeral Home with Lester Shepler officiating.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Thursday.
Burial in the Dugger Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Sullivan, Shelburn, and Hymera Legions and Sullivan Co. VFW Post.
