Daniel Joseph Hanson, 56, of Owensburg, passed away June 20 at his residence.
He was born Sept. 14, 1951 in Bedford, the son of Donald Joseph and Kathleen Marie (Schumacher) Combs.
He married Kathleen Ann Kohler on March 17, 1973 and she survives.
He worked at NSWC Crane as a warehouseman and also worked with missiles. A 1969 graduate of Eastern High School, he joined the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. He was of the Christian faith and was a member of the Crane VFW Post No. 9227, American Legion Post No. 196 of Bloomfield, and Fred Carr's Memorial AmVest Post No. 49.
Survivors include: his wife, of Owensburg; two sons, Joseph Neil Hanson and wife, Misti of Solsberry, James Hanson of Plainfield; one daughter, Elizabeth Rose Rector and husband, Donnie of Acton; nine grandchildren, three sisters, Virginia Thompson and husband, Paul, of Owensburg, Beth Roberts and husband, David, of Owensburg and Amy Thorne and husband, Phil of Bedford; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, granddaughter, Brianna Rector; and one great-grandson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home in Bedord. Burial will be at Hanson Cemetery in Guthrie.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.
