Rayford D. Jackson, 64, of Bloomfield, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at his residence.
Born in Mt. Vernon on Feb.18, 1944, he was the son of William Jackson and Edna Peerman Jackson. He worked at RCA in the shipping department for 33 years until his retirement. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a member of the NRA and Cloven Hoofs Motorcycle Club.
Rayford is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Claudetta (Baker) Jackson; mother, Edna Jackson of Ozark, MO; daughters, Paula Kay Eads (Alan) of Bloomington, Melissa Sowers (T.J.) of Brownsburg and Laura Krietenstein (John Bell) of Clermont, FL; step-sons, Paul Stewart of Paragon and Kent Stewart of Bloomington; grandchildren, Jason Aishe, David Paul (Elizabeth Brown), Brittany Sowers, Bradly Sowers, Zachary Krietenstein serving for the U.S. Army in Iraq, and Kyle Krietenstein; great-grandchildren, Aiden Brown and Weston Brown; brothers, Jim Jackson (Shirley) of Bloomfield, Robert Jackson (Cathy) of Knobnoster, MO, and Bill Jackson of Waco, TX.
He was preceded in death by his Father and brother, Ralph Jackson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville with Pastor Larry Mitchell officiating. Burial to follow at Presbyterian Cemetery.
