* July 7 -- William Padgett, 24, Linton, was arrested on a preliminary charge of invasion of privacy and was being held without bond. LPD Patrolman Jayson Smith was the arresting officer.

The Linton Police Department's activity log for Monday included one title check, two follow-up investigations, one request for information only, two assists to the utility department after hours, one protective order violation, one transport of documentation, one funeral escort, five medical/illness, two animal complaints, one suspicious vehicle/person, one harassment complaint, one domestic battery, two thefts-other, one message delivery, one community relations, two batteries and one traffic stop.
* July 7 -- A resident on 2nd St. N.W. reported a Sony car stereo/CD player was taken out of their unlocked vehicle sometime after 10:30 p.m. on July 6. LPD Cpl. Chad Crynes was the investigating officer.
* July 7 -- Police investigated a report of an alleged battery which occurred on Route 1 around 7 p.m. A woman said after she had gotten into a verbal argument with a male person, he pushed her up against a house causing pain and scratches. Information about the incident has been forwarded to the Prosecutor's office for review. LPD Cpl. Chad Crynes was the investigating officer.
* July 7 -- Police are investigating a theft which occurred at an unknown time. Entry was gained to a locked vehicle parked on 1st St. N.W. and the Sony stereo/cd player was pulled from the dash and numerous other items were taken including CDs and several butane and Zippo lighters. LPD Patrolman Karl Jacobshagen is the investigating officer.
