Robert Wayne Botkin, 82, Newark, passed away Tuesday at his residence.
Born May 18, 1926 at Bedford to Robert Botkin and Myrtle Mae (Sasser) Botkin.
He farmed this area all of his life, and served as a rifleman in the U.S. Army in Japan during World War II. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and Army of Occupation (Japan) Medal.
Survivors include: his children, Robert Botkin III, Bonnie Louise Lucey, James Edward Botkin, Myrtle Marle Botkin, Mary Ann Key, Wayne Douglas Botkin, Cissy Faye Key and Berchel Lee Botkin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, William Gordon Botkin; and siblings, Berchel Botkin, Mable Henesley andThelma Helton.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the family residence at Newark.
Visitation is Thursday through Saturday at home. Interment to take place in the family plot in a private service. Military honors accorded by the American Legion Post 106, Worthington and the VFW Post 7117, Worthington.
