* July 21 -- Steven M. Paynter, 51, Lebanon, was arrested on a warrant and was being held without bond. Greene County Sheriff's Deputy John Fowler was the arresting officer.



The Linton Police Department's activity log for Monday included one license plate check, one refusal to leave, two follow-up investigations, four requests for information only, one fight, one assist to the utility department after hours, one vandalism, one custody dispute/exchange, one structure fire, one brush fire, one accident with property damage, two medical/illness, one suspicious vehicle/person, one assist to another agency, one harassment complaint, one theft-other, one welfare check/concern and nine traffic stops.

* July 21 -- An incident of a person leaving the scene of an accident was reported by a resident who was westbound on State Road 54 in the turn lane preparing to enter the Taco Bell lot around 8:28 p.m. Another vehicle struck the resident's rear fender on the driver's side then drove off west on S.R. 54. LPD Cpl. Chad Crynes was the investigating officer.

* July 21 -- An incident of criminal mischief was reported by a female resident of an apartment on 2nd St. N.W. She told police she and a male had broke up and that he had come to her residence wanting his keys back. She gave them to him then shut the door after he kicked it. She reported that he also broke an ashtray sitting on her porch. LPD Cpl. Chad Crynes was the investigating officer.
