Born August 14, 1914 in Delaplaine, Arkansas she was the daughter of Rolla C. and Zelpha Judith (Andis) Trowbridge.
She was an enthusiastic member of the Solsberry Christian Church; a homemaker most of her life on the Bland farm in Solsberry, and worked outside the home at the Bloomfield Nursing Home (1970), Bloomington Hospital (1950-1950), and RCA (1952-1962). She married Ralph Bland on December 9, 1931, and was married over 61 years at the time of Ralph's death in May of 1993.
Surviving relatives include: one son Ronald Keith Bland of Solsberry; one daughter, Linda (Bland) Benjamin-Miles and Butch Miles of Austin, Texas; one brother Clifford A. (Margaret) Trowbridge of Martinsville; five grandchildren, Douglas Eugene Bland of Solsberry, Indiana; Dianna Lynne (Bland) Hancock of Worthington; Dirk Randall Bland of Bloomington; Eric Kyle Bippen of Indianapolis; and Christine Kerry (Bippen) Peters of Kernersville, North Carolina; daughter-in-law Sherry Bland; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Bland on May 15, 1993; one son, Kenneth Eugene Bland; one infant son Ralph Leon Bland; one infant sister, Loal Fern Trowbridge; three brothers, Charles J. Trowbridge, Leonard D. Trowbridge, and John Calvin Trowbridge; and her parents.
Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 9 a.m. until the hour of services on Thursday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday with Rev. Bryon Williams officiating.
Burial will follow at Newark Cemetery near Solsberry.
