Clarence Harold Wools, 81, of Linton, passed away at 2:42 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2008, at the Union Hospital of Terre Haute.
He was born in Jasonville on August 29, 1926, the son of Robert and Myrtle (Risher) Wools.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was retired from Crane. He was a member of the Linton Church of Christ and the Jasonville American Legion. He was an avid fisherman & hunter.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Annalee (Michael) Wools of Linton; two daughters, Pat (Jim) Taylor and Peggy (Phil) Leighty, both of Linton; a sister, Betty West of Linton; a brother, Kenneth Wools of Terre Haute; four grandchildren, Greg (Sheila) and Joe Leighty, Melissa (Kip) Gardner, and Angie (Tim) York; nine great-grandchildren, Taylor, Payton, Evan, and Griffin Leighty, James, Justine, and Kole Gardner, and Tyler and Dalton York, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six sisters; and five brothers.
Services will be at the Linton Church of Christ at 11:00 a.m. Thursday with Brother Jerry Carmichael officiating. Burial will follow at the Lebanon Cemetery in Midland with military graveside rites conducted by the Jasonville American Legion.
Visitation will be at the Welch & Cornett Funeral Home, Linton Chapel on Wednesday from 5-9 p.m., and after 10 a.m. on Thursday at the church.
