Merle C. Jolly, 90, of Stanford, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008 at Garden Villa in Bloomington.
He was born Sept. 30, 1917 in Vandalia, IL, the son of Clifford and Iva (Baldwin) Jolly.
A retired employee of the Monroe County Community School Corporation, he worked in the warehouse and maintenance department for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Greene County Chapel Methodist Church, the Stanford Community Senior Citizens, the Area 10 R.S.V.P. and the Rhythamaire Band.
Survivors include: his wife of 62 yars, Anges (Brown) Jolly of Stanford; one son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Marsha Jolly of Stanford; one granddaughter, Patricia C. Jolly of Houston, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Gayle Jolly in 1960; two sisters, Stella Hale and Ruby Lawson; and two brothers, William Jolly and Fred Jolly.
Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Greene County Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Ed Beedle officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the church from noon until the time of service on Saturday.
