Kelley family

thankful for support

To the Editor:

Dear Community Friends,

The night of Feb. 16 changed our lives when Mike sustained a head injury in an automobile accident. He was in critical care units at three hospitals for three months in Evansville and then in a rehabilitation hospital in Indianapolis for a month. We are blessed that he is now continuing his recovery process here in Linton.

During this period of time, our family has been overwhelmed with the kindness and love of so many wonderful and loving friends in our living and workplace communities. You have given us hope, encouragement, and joy. You have patiently sat with us and prayed. You have given so much of yourselves with thoughtful acts of kindness and unselfishness.

We thank each and every one of you who have taken time to be with us, pray with us, write to us, make phone calls, send wonderful and inspirational cards and notes, send beautiful flowers and planters and care baskets, prepare delicious meals for us, and help us prepare for Mike's coming home. Many, many of you have done these things time and time again.

We thank all the area churches and the church families (and many churches of which we are probably still unaware) for the prayer vigils, the prayer chains, and the continuing daily prayers, which only the good Lord has known and heard. We know that your prayers did make the difference in Mike's life and in his family's life.

Your prayers and continuing acts of kindness and generosity are humbling. We appreciate each and every thought and prayer and deed. We thank the Lord for giving Mike his life and providing very caring and excellent medical care professionals throughout this time.

Again, thank you to all who have been by our side in many ways or have had us in your thoughts and prayers. We are greatly appreciative and thankful for all you have done for us and the kindness and love you continue to show us. We humbly ask for your continued prayers for Mike as he continues his recovery process.

What a difference a loving community, family and friends make! We are blessed to be a part of this community.

Mike, Marsha, and Merrick Kelley

You don't have to leave area to find good deals

To the Editor:

"Shop at home."

We recently moved to another house and needed to buy some large ticket items. So to be wise with our money we headed to Terre Haute. We spent many hours going in many stores shopping for a furnace, flooring, and furniture. We were worn out, and everything was so expensive. All the furniture stores had the same styles not much to choose from, plus most stores charge to deliver.

I was telling a friend about the flooring store. She reminded me of how much I liked her floor she recently had got. She then said I got it in Linton. Why not shop in Linton? So we did and we really saved a lot of money. I was so surprised at how many styles the furniture store carried. So before you head out of town and waste gas and time, shop at home.

Thank you Flooring America, The Living Room Center, and Goodman Heating and Cooling for good prices and very good service.
