Alice G. Cox, 79, of Linton and formerly of Carlisle, passed away at 4:31 a.m. Monday Aug. 18, 2008 at her residence.
She was born in Beecher, Ill. on May 24, 1929 to Pliny Blaine Meek and Rosa Gertrude Mulvaney Meek.
She was a member of the Church of God in Sullivan and Linton for 60 years, attended Indiana State University and graduated from Indiana Business College.
Survivors include: two sons, Gary A. Cox and wife Cheryl and James S. Cox and wife Teresa, all of Carlisle; two daughters, Debra Perkins of Linton, and Jamie D. Templeton and husband Daniel of Ft. Stewart. Ga.; nine grandchildren, Crystal Lynn Cox, Andrew Steven Perkins, Gary Allen Cox Jr., Steven Thomas Cox, James Steven Cox Jr., Kevin Michael Cox, Justin Allen Cox, Jaiden Danielle Templeton, Stephanie Michelle Templeton; and two great grandchildren, Braylen Andrew Perkins, and Lillian Lee Cox; also several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Steven T. Cox in 2007, four brothers; Hobert, Benjamin, Aubrey, and Horace Mitchell, one grandson Travis Allen Cox, and a great grandson Andy Steven Cravens -- Perkins.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at Banks and Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan with Rev. Harley Archer officiating. Burial in the Good Hope Cemetery.
