GREENE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
* Aug. 26 -- John A. Penick, 38, Linton, was arrested on preliminary charges of public intoxication and resisting law enforcement and was being held on $1,500 bond. Linton Police Department Patrolman Jayson Smith was the arresting officer.
LINTON POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Linton Police Department's activity log for Monday included two requests for information only, one assist to the utility department after hours, two drug investigations, two lost and found, one medical/illness, one animal complaint, one child abuse/neglect, one reckless driver, one extra patrol and four traffic stops.
* Aug. 24 -- A resident on I St. S.W. reported receiving numerous phone calls between 7:44 and 9:16 p.m. from three persons, all juveniles, who made harassing comments and threats. LPD Patrolman Heath Murray is the investigating officer.
* Aug. 24 -- A resident on 4th St. S.E. reported several dents and scratches have appeared on a truck sitting in their yard. LPD Patrolman Heath Murray is the investigating officer.
* Aug. 26 -- A resident on A St. S.E. reported an incident of criminal mischief which occurred at approximately 3:24 a.m. They heard someone knocking on their door and when they looked out the window, they observed someone busting out the passenger side windows of their vehicle with a baseball bat. The perpetrators then busted out the windshield also placed debris in the gas tank. One of the suspects was a juvenile. LPD Cpl. Chad Crynes is the investigating officer.
