Tressie Vonda Weathers, 100, of Washington, passed away Friday, Aug. 29, 2008 at Jasper Memorial Hospital in Jasper.
She was born March 21, 1908, in Martin County, the daughter of James Elmer and Essie (Hayes) Fish. She married Albert Raymon Weathers, April 10, 1928, and he preceded her in death Feb. 26, 1986.
She attended the Petersburg Free Methodist Church and Elnora Methodist Church. Besides being president of Altress Trucking, Inc.
Surviving are a son, John Robert of Elnora; three daughters, Vonda Lucille Boyd and Shirley (Cecil) Miley of Petersburg, and Judy Riney of Washington; one brother, James Delmer Fish of Elnora; 11 grandchildren, Sharon Bastin and Carol Parkinson, both of Bloomington, Steven Ferguson and Terri Ferguson, both of Sarasota, Fla., Brenda Generous of Palmer, Alaska, Debra Dougherty of Plainville, Jim Miley of Petersburg, Kim Bush of Oklahoma City, Okla., Kathy O'Haver of Odon, Vicki Snyder and Randy Riney, both of Washington; 18 great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Bastin, Tressie Bastin, Tommy and Matthew Ferguson, Brynn Parkinson, Stuart and Vanessa Generous, Elizabeth and Alison Miley, Kelly and J.R. Rumble, Derek Dougherty, Kristin and Jolynn O'Haver, Jessica Weathers, Jordan Snyder, Samantha Bush and Mickey Riney.
Preceding her in death are her husband; a sister, Naomi Rollins; two brothers, John and Hays Fish; one daughter, Helen Louise; one son, Albert Jr.; an infant daughter; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Poindexter-Hall and McClure Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Paul Huntsman officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Odon.
