A Saturday evening call to the Linton Police Department about a suspicious person in the area of 9th St. N.E. and Musselman Apartments led to the arrest of Caven M. Heacock, 34, of Bloomington.
When LPD Cpl. Chad E. Crynes responded to the area around 10:45 p.m., he located a male exiting one of the apartment buildings. The man said he was coming there to see a friend.
A check of the man's identification revealed that he was wanted on a warrant out of Sullivan County on a preliminary charge of battery resulting in bodily injury - a class A misdemeanor. The warrant, issued Oct. 24, 2007, specified that Heacock should be held on $3,000 bond.
Heacock was placed under arrest without incident and transported to Dugger where he was picked up by a Sullivan County Sheriff's Deputy.
LPD Reserve Officer Kent Medlock assisted on the scene.
