Wilford D. Sircy, 84, of Elnora, passed away 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008 at Greene County General Hospital.
Born Feb. 27, 1924 in Jackson County, Tennessee, he was the son of Ellis and Florence (Dixon) Sircy.
He was a sheet metal worker for Chrysler in Indianapolis retiring in 1978 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the UAW Local #550 and the Forresters Club.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Nellie, whom he married November 27, 1944; one daughter, Rosemary Sircy-Hill of Dallas, Texas; four sons, William Sircy of Clayton, Robert Sircy of Indianapolis, Richard Sircy of Elnora, and James Sircy of Indianapolis; two brothers, James D. and Richard D. Sircy both of Indianapolis; one niece, Kathy England of Bloomfield; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Winford L., parents, 1 brother, and 3 sisters.
Services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesdat at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Billy Ed Hostettler officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Elnora.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one-hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Greene County General Hospital or Bloomfield First Christian Church in care of the funeral home.
