Richard F. "Ric" Schroeder, 72, of Linton, passed away 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
Born March 7, 1936 in Dubois County, he was the son of Gilbert and Marie (Beumer) Schroeder.
He was a banker for Peoples Trust Company in Terre Haute, Holland, Oakland City, and Linton. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Linton, American Legion Post 196 in Bloomfield, He helped found the library in Oakland City, where he also was a member of many other civic and fraternal organizations.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Genny B. (Schnarr) Schroeder whom he married June 21, 1985; children, Ricky W. Schroeder of Evansville, Robert L. and wife Tammy Schroeder of Oakland City, and Rhonda Hollingsworth and husband Curt of Newburgh; stepchildren, Terry Neidigh and wife Dianne of Bloomfield, Tom Neidigh and wife Tammy of Bloomfield, and Starla Neidigh and husband Barry Walls of Sullivan; brother, Robert J. Schroeder and wife Mary Ann of Jasper; grandchildren, Angela Hunter Gonzalez and husband Adan of Bloomfield, Austin Neidigh and finace' Sarah of Terre Haute, Casey J. Richison and husband Luke of Evansville, Kelsey Neidigh of Bloomfield, and Calan T. Schroeder of Oakland City; great, grandchildren, Chance Lewis Hunter and Gabriel Gonzalez Hunter both of Bloomfield.
Services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, at the First Baptist Church in Linton, with Rev. Joe Faust officiating. Military services will follow at the church by American Legion Post 196 Bloomfield. Graveside services will be conducted at a later date in Fairview cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Linton.
