Charles O. "Charlie" McDaniel, 63, of Bloomfield passed away at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008 at his residence.
Born Aug. 8, 1945 in Bloomfield he was the son of Owen Everett and Loren (Butler) McDaniel.
Charlie was a farmer and had worked for the Greene County Highway Department, he grew tobacco and raised cattle, he trained horses to work.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Elsie DeWeese McDaniel of Bloomfield; one step-daughter, Angela King and her husband Euford of Morgantown; two step-sons, Bill DeWeese and his wife Donna of New Whiteland and Christopher DeWeese and his wife Vickie of Martinsville; seven step-grandchildren, Lisa DeWeese, Katlyn DeWeese, Jeremiah King, Clint King, Chris DeWeese, Melissa Skiles, and Dakota Skiles; two step-great grandchildren, Shane King and Hayden King; one sister, May Belle Zimmereman of Jasonville; two nieces, Renee and Juanita; one nephew, Buddy; one Aunt, June Stephens of Linton; brother-In-Laws and Sister-In-Laws, Rick and Martha Black Family of Paragon, Dave and judy Sims Family of Martinsville, Loujean Walt Family of Martinsville, Terry and Dixie Bland Family of Solsberry and Aaron Walt Family of Martinsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one half sister, Margaret McDaniel.
Friends may call from noon Wednesday until the hour of service at the Newark Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday November 5, 2008 at the church. Burial will follow at Newark Cemetery.
The family wishes any memorial donations be made to Jenkins Funeral Home in Charlie's name.
