William F. Weaver, 82, of Linton, passed away at 7:15 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born Jan. 15, 1926, in Linton, the son of Floyd & Martha (Angleton) Weaver.
He worked at Crane Naval Weapons Support Center for 39 years. He was an avid sports fan and loved fishing & deer hunting. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 22 of Linton.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette B. (Dunning) Weaver, to whom he was married March 21, 1944, a son, William Weaver of Bicknell, two daughters, Carolyn Hay of Linton and Susanne Weaver of Linton, a sister, Betty Padgett of Linton, three brothers, Hallie (Charmon) Weaver of Bloomington, Donald L. (Joan) Weaver of Linton, and Jerry D. (Shirley) Weaver of Beech Grove, five grandchildren, Jeremy Castle, Bryan Weaver, Cory Hay, Kristina Massaro, and Mackenzie Weaver, and two great-grandchildren, Brittany Hogg and Aileese Massaro.
He was preceded by his parents, a stillborn son, Stephen Reid Weaver, a brother, James Weaver, a sister-in-law, Susanne Lawson, and a brother-in-law, Bobby O. Dunning.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel, with the Rev. Mike Roth officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton. The Linton American Legion will conduct military graveside rites.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, and after 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
