Born Aug. 4, 1937 in Dugger, he was the son of George Frank and Cora Siglar Kendall.
He worked for Schwab Foods, Morgan Hospital and Medical Center and The Waters of Martinsville. A member of the Grace Baptoist Church in Dugger, he was a 1957 graduate of Dugger High School and attended Baptist Bible College for 2 ½ years. He formerly served in the National Guard and moved to Martinsville from Bloomington in 1974.
Survivors include: his wife, Carol Sue Hammons
Kendall of Martinsville, who he married on Feb. 16, 1973; three daughters, Rebecca Archart of Joplin, Mo., Rhonda Pruett of Carthage, Mo. and Debra Smootth of Carthage, Mo.; one son, Randy Kendall of Carthage, Mo.; one sister, Bernice Phegley of Linton; two brothers, Alfred Kendall of Dugger and Melvin Kendall of Linton; as well as several grrandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death bhy his parents, a sister Doris Phegley; and two brothers, Otis and Ralph Kendall.
Visitation will be conducted at Neal and Summers Funeral and Cremation Center of Martinsville from 4-8 p.m. Monday and after 10 a.m Tuesday. A celebration of life be at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Norman Able officiating. Burial will be in Centennial Cemetery in Martinsville.
