Charles John Miller, 84, of Elnora, passed away at 12:15 a.m. Monday at Washington Nursing Center.
Born June 30, 1924, in Daviess County, he was the son of Charles E. and V. Faye (Farren) Miller.
He attended Elnora High School and served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. Retiring in 1985, he worked at Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane for 40 years and C.A.C.I. Crane for nine years. He was a member of Elnora Christian Church where he was a deacon and finance treasurer.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Miller, whom he married Nov. 27, 1947; daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Mike Rader of Bloomfield, and Kristi and Matthew Davis of Newburgh; son and daughter-in-law, J. Steven and Karen Miller of Newburgh; grandchildren, Jordan and Jason Rader and Joshua and Lucas Miller; and great-grandchild, Carly Joy Rader.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Barbara Miller.
Graveside services will be held at noon Wednesday at Fairview Cemetery in Elnora.
Visitation is after 10 a.m. Wednesday at Elnora Christian Church. Arrangements are being made through Poindexter-Hall and McClure Funeral Home in Odon.
