Rotary Club says thanks for the help

To the Editor:

On Thursday, Dec. 18, the Linton Rotary Club once again partnered with the Saron Church to serve our free Christmas Dinner in conjunction with the Civitan Toys for Tots distribution. We served more than 600 meals!

None of this would have been possible without the wonderful participation of members of the Saron Church, who provided much of the food for the evening. We also had students from Linton-Stockton High School who helped serve, carry meals, and helped with clean-up. For this we are very grateful.

Many thanks to Stoll's Country Inn who provided noodles free of charge and to Casey's General Store for giving us ice for the drinks, also at no charge. Finally thanks to all of the Rotarians who provided about 360 pounds of turkey for this dinner, and all of them who planned, cooked, served, delivered and cleaned-up to make this another very successful and rewarding service to our community.

We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and look forward a healthy and happy New Year.

Bruner family thankful for support

To the Editor:

The family of Robert L. Bruner wishes to convey our appreciation and gratitude to everyone for your thoughts, prayers, flowers, cards, food, and any other token of kindness during the long illness and passing of our loving husband and dad.

A special thanks to the Rev. Richard Birden and family, the Rev. Mark Mowery, and American Legion Post 22 for your superb labors during his services. We also thank the Bible Wesleyan Chapel for your love, support, and outstanding meal. We extend our gratitude to Mr. Todd Walton of The Welch and Cornett Funeral Home for his efforts and assistance during this time.

Woman's sister asks

for prayers again

To the Editor:

I need to ask for prayers for my sister, Lovena (Sims) Heaton Carter, again.

She's back in Regional Hospital, again. She was only out one or two days. She began having severe pains, and had to go back.

This time they did a C.A.T. Scan of her pancreas, and they found a lump on it.

She originally went in with acute pancreatitis. She was in ICU, in critical condition, for about a month. Then she was moved to 5th floor. This time she's in Room 506 Bed A.

She wants me to ask everyone to pray for her, and she'd cherish visits from any ministers who would find the time to visit her and pray with her.

We don't know what procedures she's facing, so we're putting her in God's hands, and we'll accept what he chooses.

She can't talk above a whisper, so it's better to send a card or letter. Send them to: Regional Hospital, c/o Lovena Carter, Room 506A, South 7th Street, Terre Haute, Ind., 47882
