Marion Donald "Crickett" Bridges, 83, of Jasonville, passed away at 11:50 a.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 2009 at Sullivan County Community Hospital.

He was born Aug. 12, 1925 in Jasonville, to William Bridges and Gladys (Garlit) Bridges.

A Navy veteran of World War II, he worked as a chemical operator for Pfizer for 33 1/2 years before retiring in 1982. He attended Friendly Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Betty L. (Miller) Abel Bridges of Jasonville whom he married in 1969; sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Janice Bridges, Linton, William "Bill"  and Brenda Bridges, Terre Haute, Donald Marion Bridges, Terry and Debbie Bridges,Terre Haute; step-daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Jack Maze, Sullivan; and Paula and Jessie Engle, Dugger, Debra and Earl Smith, Jasonville; step-son, Timothy and Velora Abel, Corpus Cristi, TX; grandchildren: Lori Ann Scott, Billy Ray Bridges, Jr., Jessie Bridges, Michael Bridges, Michael Shannon Orman, Anthony Orman, Larry Regan, Ralph Regan, Shelly Jackson, Jason Smith, Ashley Russell, Stephanie Russell, Timothy Travis Abel, and Kimberly Abel-Ugarte'; great grandchildren, Kelsea Ann Scott, Skylar Scott, Jaron Scott, Kaleb Bridges, Madisyn Bridges, Rebekah Jackson, Mackenzie Jackson, Lensie Jackson, Chase Orman, Derrick Orman, Cole Orman, Clay Orman, Emily Regan, Shelby Regan, Blake Bridges, Christopher Bridges, Michael Bridges Jr., Kayla Bridges, Kimberly Rivera, Violet Ugarte, Teagon Ugarte and Abbie Seivert.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Thelma (Bridges) Baker, Willhelmenia "Billie"  Stoops; brother, Yondel Bridges; daughter, Theresa Ann Martin; grandson, Eric Bridges; and step-son, Anthony Abel.

Visitation will be from 11a.m. until service time Thursday at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday with Pastor Doug Cassel officiating.

Burial will be in Peavey Cemetery in Howesville.
