Terry Lee Phegley, 52, of Linton and formerly of Bloomington, passed away Thursday morning, Jan. 22, 2009, at his residence in Linton.
He was born March 10, 1956, in Linton, the son of Alpha "Junior" and Nelda (Hayes) Phegley.
He was co-owner of Judy's Flowers & Gifts in Bloomington and was a member of the New Covenant Pentecostal Church in Linton. He was an avid musician, playing bass guitar in several bands and was an avid basketball and football fan.
Survivors include his father, Alpha "Junior" Phegley of Michigan; his mother, Nelda Anderson-Hallaway of Linton; his former spouse, Judith Phegley of Bloomington; two sisters, Kim M. (Randall) McFarland of Bloomington and Kelly J. Bentley of Greenwood; uncles, Melvin Hayes of Ruidoso, NM and Al King of Eugene, Oregon; nieces, Ashley M. Erb of Brownsburg, Emmily A. Kolinek of Bloomington and Nichole L. Bentley of Greenwood; nephews, Joshua L. Phegley of Bloomington and Nicholas L. Bentley of Greenwood; and great-nieces, Shawnie Phegley and Nykia Nixon.
Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial service will be held in Bloomington at a later date.
Memorials can be made to the Roosevelt Mission, Martha's House -- a Bloomington homeless shelter, or the Indiana Organ Procurement Association through the funeral home.
