Born April 11, 1919 in Clay County, he was the son of the late John Tarquin and Pearl Ruth (Liechty) Weatherwax.
He was a U. S. Army veteran, having served during World War II from 1942 to 1945. In 1954, he moved his family from Midland to Lafayette. He was employed at Eli Lilly from 1955 to 1982 where he retired as a supervisor in the pipe shop.
He married Betty Jean Driscoll on March 4, 1943. She preceded him in death on April 11, 1995.
In retirement, Mr. Weatherwax spent his winters in Florida and summers in Indiana. He enjoyed hosting family and friends at his Florida home and working on home projects.
He is survived by three sons: Steven L. Weatherwax (Karen) and Brent J. Weatherwax of Lafayette, Van D. "Deet" Weatherwax (Belinda) of Delphi; one daughter, Nancy J. Seabolt of Lafayette, and a sister, Patty Pope (Keith) of rural Jasonville.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John E. Weatherwax; a sister, Margaret Cadwell; and a daughter-in-law, Julie Weatherwax.
Friends may call two hours prior to a 3:00 p.m. service Thursday at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel, 1184 Sagamore Parkway West, West Lafayette, IN. with Rev. Dr. Clayton Kendall officiating.
Interment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette.
