Ina Pearl Barnes, 93, of Bloomington, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, at Bloomington Hospital in Bloomington.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Barnes of Bloomington, her son, Bill Barnes (Charlotte) of Matthews, N.C., a granddaughter, and three great grandsons. She is also survived by one niece and five nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother and sister.
A memorial service was conducted Jan. 16, in the sanctuary at Linton First United Methodist Church with the Revs. James Gentry and W.T. Murphy officiating. Interment followed at Fairview Cemetery.
A second memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, at First United Methodist Church, 219 E. 4th Street, Bloomington with Revs. George Purcell and Jimmy Moore officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service in the gathering place at the church.
The family has requested memorial contributions be made to First United Methodist Church, 149 B St., N.E., Linton, Ind., 47441 (choir and organ fund), First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 936, Bloomington, Ind. 47402 (to the Charles Webb Endowment Fund, the United Methodist Women, or the Shalom Center), or to Habitat for Humanity.
