Betty May Workman, 70, of Switz City, passed away at 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009 at her residence.
Born Jan. 4, 1939, in Daviess County, she was the daughter of John William and Pearl (Gibson) Abel.
She was retired from RCA. She also worked at Greene County General Hospital and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Switz City Christian Church and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #22 in Linton.
Surviving relatives include: her husband, Roy Dean Workman, of Switz City; children, Debra Ann Salmon, of Shoals, Indiana; Loretta Kay Palo of Engadine, Mich.; Kevin Lee Webster of Linton; Robert Derwin Webster of Elnora; two step-sons, Jeffery Dean Workman of Linton, and Bradley Dwayne Workman of Odon; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; one brother, John Edward Abel of Shoals; and one sister, Janet Sue Mattox of Homer, Ill.
She was preceded in death by one grandchild and her parents.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at the Switz City Christian Church in Switz City with Chris Gehring and Keith Haywood officiating. Interment will be at Springville Cemetery West in Springville.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield and 1 p.m. until the hour of service at the Switz City Christian Church.
The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Society or COPD Foundation in care of Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
