Kenneth George Marx, Sr., 86, of Jasonville, died at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.
Born April 29, 1922 in Mt. Vernon,, he was the son of Frank Marx and Lily (Miller) Marx.
He married Barbara (Brunner) Marx was married on Nov. 25, 1951.
He worked several years for Poe Electric and Peabody Coal Company at the Universal Mine as a certified electrician before retiring in the early 1970's. He was a member of the Jasonville American Legion Post No. 172 and was commander many times, was also District 7 Vice-Commander several times during his membership. He was also a member of IBEW-International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
He served stateside during World War II as a medical technician in the Army Air Corp.
Survivors include: a daughters, Kathryn Marx and Mary Ann Marx both of Jasonville; sons and daughter-in-law, Charles William and Debra Marx of Newburgh, Kenneth Marx Jr. of Farmersburg, Michael Marx of Switz City; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a great-great granddaughter, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara, on Sept. 21, 1997; step-children, Vicki Paree and Charles Paree; three brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home at 631 East Main St.; Jasonville, IN.
As Kenneth, wished cremation is scheduled and there will be a private funeral service at a later date.
A private burial will be at a later date in Lebanon Cemetery with military graveside rites.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to offset funeral costs. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
