He was born on July 9, 1929 in Clay County, to Clarence and Pearl (Blanton) Miller.
On April 26, 1972, he married Clara G. Strahle.
Wilbur was a welder for Peabody Coal Company in Jasonville for 21 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Worthington and UMWA Dist. 12 for 40 years.
Survivors include his wife, Clara G. Miller; three daughters, Connie Zellers of Jasonville, Melody Miller-Casey and Becky (Jeff) Sloan both of Worthington; one son, Michael Miller of Worthington; four grandchildren, Preston and Meggan Miller, Carley and Garrett Sloan; two brothers, Ralph (Betty) Miller of Florida and Dwight (Merry) Moody of Grand Rapids, MN; three sisters, Lois Whitehead of Cleveland, TN, Sharon (Bob) Walker of Tennessee and Judy Robinson of Bloomington.
Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Chris Zellers; one stepson, Ronald Burton; two brothers, Norman Dale and Wayne Miller.
Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Revs. Harold Crenshaw and Gary Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Stafford Cemetery in Sandborn.
The family has requested memorial contributions to be made to the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Worthington. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
