Born Jan. 3, 1945, in New York City, he grew up in Goshen.
Rick graduated from Goshen High School and served in the U. S. Air Force. He later attended Fort Wayne Art School. He was a talented artist whose works have been collected around the United States. Rick was also a songwriter and recording artist with several gold and platinum records to his credit.
He is survived by his children, a daughter, Jennifer Curtis of Ohio, a son, Jesse Dew-Curtis of Florida, and daughter, Dayle Curtis, also of Florida, and granddaughter, Jessica Curtis, of Ohio and a grandson, Quinn Brittain, of Ohio. He is also survived by brothers, Michael (Anne) Curtis of Hendersonville, Tenn.,Thomas Curtis and Rob (Virginia) Curtis and sister, Patty Schauer, all of Santa Paula, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Curtis, in 1990; and his mother, Rosemary Curtis, in 2007.
A private burial will be at Fairview Cemetery on Friday, March 6, 2009, with Father Michael Madden officiating.
