Bertha Louise Mitchell, 92, of Linton passed away at 9:16 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Glenburn Home in Linton.
Born Oct. 4, 1916 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Edward and Laura E. (Lester) McElroy.
Bertha was a homemaker and a member of the Bloomfield First Baptist Church for more than 65 years.
Surviving relatives include three daughters, Ethel Mae Storm of Midland; Barbara Frye and her husband Doug and Anna Kaye Craig and her husband Doil, all of Bloomfield; five granchildren, Robin A. Hoskins and her husband Bill, Robert A. Storm II and his wife Jackie, Marcy D. Frye, Megan D. Keown and her husband Dan, and Kristi L. Vester and her husband Billie; four-great granddaughters; two great-grandsons and two great-great granddaughters; four sisters, Mary Ann Floyd of Bloomington, and Ethel Toon, Martha Ramsey and Lola Mowery, all of Bloomfield.
Bertha was preceded in death by her husband Fred Mitchell Jr. on March 14, 2005; two brothers, Herbert and Harold McElroy; one sister, Lula Allen; and her parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at Bloomfield First Baptist Church on Wednesday.
Service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Bloomfield First Baptist Church with Rev. Brent Meyer officiating.
Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall Kitchen Fund.
