Nola M. Holtsclaw, 98, of Bloomfield, passed away at 7:30 P.M. on Monday March 16, 2009 at her residence.
Born Nov. 17, 1910 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Oliver W. and Emma (Crum) Anderson.
Nola was a school teacher at Little Cincinnati, Bodwell, Hobbieville, Sandborn and one year at Switz City. She was also a homemaker and a member of the Eastern Star and Rebbeca Lodge, both of Bloomfield, and she was a member of the Union Primitive Church.
Surviving relatives include: one son, Lester Holtsclaw of Bloomfield; three grandsons, Charles Rex Holtsclaw of Seymour, Boyd Edward Holtsclaw of Worthington, and Byron Lee Holtsclaw of Switz City; four great-grandchildren, Jaryn Riley Holtsclaw of Seymour, Boyd Jarret Holtsclaw of Worthington, Seth Byron Holtsclaw of Switz City, Liberty Faith Holtsclaw of Switz City, and Charles Eugene Holtsclaw of Switz City; two step-grandchildren, Jordan McGuire and Jessica McGuire, both of Seymour; and one sister Dorothy Gill of Solsberry, Indiana.
Nola was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Wesley Holtsclaw on February 2, 1992; two sons, Charles Edward Holtsclaw and Harold Eugene Holtsclaw; one brother, Lloyd Anderson; and two sisters, Nona Todd and Mable Johnson.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday March 18, 2009 and 11 a.m. until the hour of service on Thursday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Byron Lee Holtsclaw officiating.
Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield.
The family wishes in lieu of flowers tbat all donations be made to their church.
