He was born Jan. 9, 1928, in Monrovia, the son of Newton Robert and Martha (Moore) Felker.
He was an U.S. Army and Navy veteran of World War II. He was a machinist for Otis Elevator, retiring after 25 years service. He was a member of the Lebanon Baptist Church in Midland, American Legion Post No. 22 and VFW Post No. 7118, both of Linton and the Wright Township Volunteer Fire Department. He served in prison ministry for several years.
Survivors include his wife, Betty (Hollingworth) Felker, to whom he was married April 4, 1953; four sons, Jack (Sharon) Felker of Linton, Kenneth (Linda) Felker of Linton, Marvin (Shelly) Felker of Jasonville and Kevin (Ange) Felker of Jasonville; two daughters, Sue (Jim) Feutz of Linton and Tanna (Jeff) Samm of Jasonvillle; a sister, Dorthy Felker of Terre Haute, 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Fulk and Ruth Ellis; and two brothers, Otis and Leroy Felker.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the Lebanon Baptist Church in Midland with Keith Pope officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery at Linton. The Linton American Legion will conduct military graveside rites.
Friends may call at the Lebanon Baptist Church from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and after noon Friday. A Indiana Volunteer Firefighters Association memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the church.
