Opal "Memaw" Richardson, 70, of Lyons passed away at 9 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2009 at the Lyons Health & Living Center.
Born March 15, 1939 in Neosho, Missouri she was the daughter of George Washington Chester and Maude Alice (Schartz) Chester.
Opal was retired from RCA/Thompson Consumer Electronics in Bloomington. She was a member of the White River Valley Baptist Church.
Surviving relatives include her daughter Linda Chambers and husband Allen of Lyons; one grandson, J.K. Duncan of Lyons;two granddaughter, Laura Brokaw and husband Rich of Evansville, and Kimberly Browning and husband J.B. of Bloomington, a special friend, Kelly Rupp of Lyons; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Meyers of Lakeland, Fla. and Margaret Ricky of Joplin, Mo.; one sister-in-law Manerua Chester of Goodman, Mo.; and one brother, Melvin J. Chester of Home, Pa.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents, husband James E. Richardson on November 8, 1988; one daughter, Annette Richardson; three brothers Lewis Foreacker, John Henry Chester; and Raymond "Chubby" Morgan.
Services were conducted at 11 on Thursday April 2, 2009 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Lyons with Pastor Mike Hennie officiating. Burial followed at Prairie Chapel Cemetery near Lyons.
Jenkins Funeral Home in Lyons handled the arrangemnts.
