The U.S. Army veteran of World War II was born Nov. 25, 1916, in Terre Haute to Carl and Nell Harbrueger.
He was a retired coal miner and hod carrier. He was a member of the Linton American Legion, the Terre Haute Veterans of Foreign Wars and an avid coon hunter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Tipton Harbrueger; his parents; and one sister, Lucille Thompson.
Survivors include one sister, Maxine Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Terre Haute with the Rev. James Quick officiating.
The Sullivan, Shelburn and Hymera American Legions and the Sullivan Veterans of Foreign Wars will conduct military rites.
Holmes Memorial Chapel, Sullivan is in charge of arrangements.
