We need to support our volunteers

To the Editor:

Being a Linton-Stockton High School graduate of 30-plus years ago, I would like to praise the endless hours of volunteer time men and women have put in to make Linton athletics what it is today.

Apparently some people need to get out and support such community affairs and tip their hats to these volunteer folks. It saddens me to know of these behind-the-scene volunteers who are being scrutinized by others opinions and unclear facts. If we look at ourselves, I'm sure we can dig up something we aren't proud of, but would you like this to affect your child's ability to have you play an active part in their athletic career at Linton? Of course not!

I invite you to attend practices and games. See how hard these volunteers and children work together. Look at our baseball and the new building made possible by these volunteers.

Come on Lintonians! We need to pull together for the good of our growing athletics, not be wasting time criticizing those volunteering to help them.

I hope others feel the same way I do and will stand up for those who have helped make Linton ball teams what they are today. Do you want your kids to make the same mistakes you did growing up? Support these teams, coaches and volunteers. Please!
