Philip was born on Aug. 13, 1958 to Glenda Cook and the late Robert Sartore.
He graduated from North High School and Indiana University and received his Masters of History from Mississippi State University. He collected art and was a Civil War historian. He was retired from Crane Naval Depot in Crane, IN.
Philip is survived by his mother, Glenda Cook of Oceanside, CA; grandmother, Eloise Skelton of Goldsboro, NC; two brothers, Timothy Sartore and his wife Teresa of Richland, IN and David Sartore and his wife Sharon of Henderson, KY; one niece, Casey and three nephews, Jason, Bradley, and Cameron.
Graveside service 10 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2009 at Skelton Cemetery near Tennyson, IN.
