Lady Cardinals blank Linton-Stockton 5-0
Bloomfield won for the fourth time in five matches as the Lady Cardinals defeated host Linton-Stockton 5-0 in a high school girls tennis match Wednesday at Humphreys Park.
Bailey Maryfield, who has signed to play college tennis at IUPUI, did not lose a game in defeating Linton-Stockton junior Abbey Burris in straight sets at No. 1 singles.
Sarah Miller of Bloomfield lost one game in defeating Lady Miner sophomore Sarah Hensley 6-0, 6-1 at two singles.
Lindley Gremore blanked Amy Goodman in a contest at three singles.
The Lady Cardinals also cruised at doubles, with the BHS duo of Christina Neill and Rachel Toon beating Olivia Wells and Olivia Villain 6-0, 6-1.
Megan Johnson and Sabrina Colvin of Linton-Stockton managed to win two games, but suffered a 6-1, 6-1 loss to the Lady Cardinal pair of Alley Gilliland and Bailee Byers at two doubles.
Bloomfield won the jv match 3-0.
The Cardinals will host Sullivan Thursday while the Lady Miners (0-4) will compete at Vincennes Rivet Monday.
