Marsha Jean (Kindred) Grenat, 56, of Lafayette died Thursday evening April 23, 2009 at her home after a long battle with cancer.
Born August 23, 1952 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Wilbert Garrett Kindred and Katherine Delois (Martindale) Kindred Carpenter, both deceased.
She enjoyed being with children and worked as a reading interventionist at Miller School in Lafayette.
She is survived by a step-father Wendell Carpenter; two sons and daughter-in-laws Vernon Dale Grenat and Janie of Attica; Richard (Rick) Allen Grenat and Rachael of Lafayette; one daughter and son-in-law Beth Ann Coats and Sean of Lafayette; two sisters and brother-in-laws Rita Dianne and Jim Knight of Hymera, Renetta Darlene and Floyd Budd of Bloomfield; two brothers and sister-in-laws Randy Dean Kindred, Ross Dwight and Marilyn Kindred of Bloomfield and Diana Sue Kindred of Owensburg; grandchildren, Leah Nicole and Christina Leigh Grenat, Katelyn Jena and Janette Ellen Coats, Avery Jade, Audrey, and Dylan Michael Joseph Grenat; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brother Michael Darwin Kindred.
Viewing is 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Sollar-Baker Funeral Home in Lafayette also there is a viewing from 1 p.m. Wednesday April 29, 2009 until the hour of service at Southside Wesleyan Church in Bloomfield.
Services will be at 2 p.m. at the Southside Weslyn Church in Bloomfield on Wednesday April 29, 2009 with Rev. Tom Camp officiating. Burial will be at the K and P Cemetery in Hymera.
