JAIL LOG

* April 27 -- Alex L. Butler, 22, Linton, was arrested on a preliminary charge of battery resulting in bodily injury, and was being held in lieu of $1,000 bond. Linton Police Reserve Officer Mike Harroll was the arresting officer.

* April 27 -- Randall L. McDougall, 26, Poland, was arrested on a warrant out of Owen County and was being held without bond. Greene County Sheriff's Deputy Jeremy Inman was the arresting officer.

ACTIVITY LOG

The Linton Police Department's activity log for Monday included five medical/illness, one animal complaint, one suspicious vehicle/person, two thefts-other, two welfare checks/concerns, one domestic dispute and 14 traffic stops.

* April 27 -- Police are investigating an incident of shoplifting which occurred around 3:30 p.m. at the Dollar General Store. A woman shopper placed several health and beauty items in her purse then left the store without for them. The theft was caught on surveillance video footage. LPD Officer Karl Jacobshagen is the investigating officer.

* April 27 -- A resident on Winters Rd. reported a silver Dell laptop computer in a black bag was stolen out of his vehicle. He said he loaded the vehicle up for work in the evening then forgot to lock it. When he got up the next morning, the laptop was gone. LPD Lt. Det. Duane Collenbaugh is the investigating officer.
