She was born in Brazil, Indiana May 20, 1945 the daughter of Russell Walters and Ruth Loy Walters.
Laura was a member of the Shaker Prairie Church in Carlisle and was formerly employed at the Greene Co. Court House and most recently employed at Hester's Grocery in Carlisle.
Survivors include her husband Harold Hatfield, one son, Ted Green Jr.(Ann) of Savannah, Ga.; three step-sons, Phillip Hatfield (Laura) of Carlisle, Steven Hatfield (Judy) of Odessa, Mo., Chris Hatfield of Evansville, three step-daughters, Denise Warnick (Jeff) of Cayuga, IN., Ashley Hatfield (Jerry Souders) of Sullivan, Sami Hatfield of Carlisle, three brothers, her twin Estel Buddy Walters of Bushnell, Florida, Ralph Walters of Judson, IN, and Raymond Walters of Bushnell, Fla.; one sister, Marilyn Modesitt of Linton; two grandchildren, Riley Marie Green, and Harrison Wayne Green; several step-grandchildren, one step great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 7 p.m, Monday May 4, 2009 at the Shaker Prairie Christian Church in Carlisle with Bill Burress officiating. A private family burial will be held Tuesday at the IOOF Cemetery in Carlisle.
Friends may call at the Shaker Prairie Christain Church Monday from 4-7p.m.
